What are the benefits of Cupping?

Cupping is a tool used by Chinese Medicine Practitioners (Acupuncturists), the practitioner places specially designed sterile cups on the skin to create suction. The suction created from the heat, draws the skin and underlying tissues into the cups, causing a localized vacuum effect and triggering a healing response in the body.

Some of the potential benefits of cupping can include:

☯️ Pain reduction

Cupping can be useful to alleviate muscle and joint pain. The suction increases blood flow, which may reduce inflammation and promote healing.

☯️ Detoxification

Cupping is believed to draw toxins and impurities from the body to the surface of the skin, where they may be eliminated through the lymphatic drainage system.

☯️ Performance enhancement and muscle recovery

Cupping is often used by Athletes as part of their recovery routine. It may help reduce muscle soreness, increase range of motion, and improve performance.

☯️ Stress reduction & relaxation

Cupping may have a calming effect on the body, helping to relieve stres and promote relaxation.

☯️ Circulation improvement

The suction created by cupping may stimulate blood and lymphatic circulation, enhancing the flow of nutrients and oxygen to tissues whilst aiding in the removal of waste products.

Cupping has been practiced for centuries in various cultures, broad large scaled scientific medical research is still limited, but when provided by a fully qualified, registered Chinese medicine practitioner (acupuncturist); their extensive training will ensure the correct application and appropriate use of these tools for your body type and complaint.
